Relax, Repair Your Wii, And Play Some Games!

By James Pierce

Have you ever encountered a damaged Nintendo Wii gaming system and you do not know where to turn to repair your Wii? Don't trust those individuals that do the delivery and shipping or the repair centers as you know deep down inside that most of them are simply self-taught technicians with no formal training? Well you are not alone. I have been there frantically thinking of what to do to get my Wii up and running again without having to send it out to untrustworthy repair centers or having to pack the heck out of the box so the brutal shipping services don?t do more damage to it or worse yet, lose it somewhere between New York and Seattle. I came up with my own solution, I did my own Wii repair. You notice I said my own repair? Yes, your hearing is good, Nintendo Wii repair is not all that hard and in fact fairly easy and fast with a nice Wii Fix Guide and email support to answer questions that might come up while you have your Wii disassembled.

Let me first share my story with you. Nothing ruins my Thursday game night greater than a broken Wii console. Some people go out to clubs and drinking, I stay in on Thursday night every week and have Wii game night. Nothing seems worse than working a long stressful week and come game night your Wii console goes caput!

So what did I do? I had my apartment to myself and plenty of time to play, all night if I wanted to. But I needed to repair my Wii and fast. It was malfunctioning and I knew I had seen information online about repairing a Wii at one time or another.

Obviously, shipping my gaming console to a repair center wouldn't get me up and running too fast. That could take days or even a couple of weeks before I could have my unit back. Not forgetting, if the repair center has a backlog of Wii consoles that require fixing too, getting my unit back will obviously take a lot longer. In addition, I have to worry about some, why don't we just say... unfortunate situations come up by sending my Wii away to be repaired.

My first Wii underwent the knife at one of these repair houses and came back in worse condition than when it went out. The amount of scratches on the console just blew me away. Who do I blame? Shipping company or the repair center. It upset me so bad I just gave my Wii away and went out and purchased a new one.

So bottom line this is my second Wii console and I want to keep it scratch free and blemish free as much as possible and I really do not feel like going out and flipping the bills for a new one. I may work at a bank but I am far from rich!

So I searched the web (Yes - there are some sites that are legit and knows what their talking about) for solutions to my issue. After visiting numerous pages and joining different forums, I stumbled to one saying that he repaired his Wii using a simple and easy to follow Wii fix guide. He claims that Wii repair has never been easier since the instructions are orderly and describes different Wii problems.

So I visited the site. Usually, I have doubts about this but after seeing the website and that it is professionally designed (shady ones usually have generic web page construction) my confidence is gradually building up. What sealed the deal is that they offer email support to teach how to fix Wii problems. I always preferred email support and being able to ask specific questions. It always makes things much easier.

So to make a long story short I repaired my Wii that night and was much happier and able to spend the rest of the evening playing my favorite gaming console.

Need To Step Up Your Game? Read These Tips!

By Alejandro Sison

Video gaming offers something for everyone, literally. The virtual world can be used to turn you into a straight-A student or top-notch soldier, and everything in between. Check out the tips in the following article and learn more about the ways in which video gaming can enhance your life.

Be aware of the hidden dangers of online gaming. Some of these games will require you to pay a monthly fee. If your children want to start playing an online game, you should review it first. Make note of whether or not there is any money involved, and if there is, figure out whether the game justifies the cost.

A lot of online games these days offer players the option to earn new content or rewards by slowly working hard at it or by purchasing it. Look into the purchases required for some games. On one hand, there is not much more enjoyment in playing. These will also save you a lot of your precious time.

Some games fall into the "edutainment" genre. When purchasing for a child, stick to these titles and avoid the ones filled with violence or other questionable content. Search online for reviews by other parents to find some examples of games that may be appropriate for your child.

Parents should take the time to look in the game console's settings for parental controls. Consoles will have these controls within their setting's menus. These can allow you to control games by ESRB rating, the amount of time on the system and limit online access. With these controls set, your child can play games more safely.

If you have a child that loves video games, make sure you set up some limits. Clearly express how much time a child can invest in one day and stick to it. You can also use video games as a reward when your child completes chores around the house. For example, you could set up a system where each chore they do gives them ten minutes of game time.

It doesn't matter if you turn your game on for fun, learning or training, one thing is certain: it can really make considerable improvements in just about anything you do. Whether you are trying to be a better student, soldier, chef or business owner, there isn't anything games can't teach!

Bossa Nova Noir: Gravity Bones Ranks Top For Best Games For PC (Free Category)

By Mickey Jhonny

Though its several years old now, this great bossa nova noir game, Gravity Bones, still remains our number one pick for among the best games ford PC in the free category. It is a short standalone game in which the first person player seems to be some kind of secret agent.

There are only two levels and you can play through the entire thing in probably about 20 minutes - at least once you figure out how the heck to get to that fourth bird. It is mission based with a learning arch embedded into the process, which is executed quite cleverly. It comes in a zip file and needs no installation. It requires about 20MB of disk space.

Fine and good, but why do I rave about it so, you might ask. The great fun in this game comes from both its experience-based playing method as well as its strikingly realized aesthetic world. Calling this a first-person game, while accurate, doesn't do justice to its originality. This one is kind of a new genre all of it own: bossa nova noir!

Ascribing a story to it is a bit tricky. There are certainly tasks and as you uncover and accomplish them, a unity emerges, but for all that, this game functions more as a work of slightly avant garde art: it's open to a lot of interpretation.

Soon as the game begins the player is immediately immersed a Euro-spy ambiance. Right off the mark you're wandering amid elegantly dressed guests at a black tie cocktail party, which is spread out over a series of terraces. The terraces look out over a Swiss style mountain encircled lake. Groovy bossa nova tones accompany you through the assembled partiers. The first mission is already underway.

This first level is a quicker and simpler mission that really serves as a tutorial for the player to learn the game's world and rules. It is quickly completed. The second level is more testing and in some ways interesting -- but no less atmospheric. The mission here is more elaborate and complicated. Now, far from the sunny and broad vistas of the mountainside terrace, we find ourselves travelling through deserted corridors and across exterior catwalks on a stormy night.

I have almost no criticisms of this elegant and compact great little game. The one thing I didn't like though was the clue cards, invariably telling you to head to a furnace room. I could have totally done without those. And, in fact, I did do without them. I simply ignored them and had a lot more fun finding my way about through exploratory trial and error. At most the cards should be optional, I think. My method was loads more fun.

The aesthetics of this game are almost as much fun as the play. Boldly foregoing the usual polygon realism the game conjures up a vivid world of its own that works beautifully with an espionage sensibility that stops just short of being self-mocking. It's maybe ironic without descending into cheesy.

Though short and sweet, for play and aesthetics alike, this game is a real treat. It's definitely still our number one choice among the best games for PC in the free category.

Can't Get Enough Video Game Tips? Try These!

By Alejandro Sison

Do you remember opening your first video game system as a child? The anticipation of blowing up bad guys or virtually flying a plane? I do, and ever since, video games have been a fun hobby I've enjoyed in my spare time. Read on to find out how you can make gaming even more fun!

Be aware of the hidden dangers of online gaming. There can be an annual or monthly fee to play. Always check out any monthly video game site that children are interested in joining. Find out if there are any fees, and if so, whether the game is worth it.

A lot of online games these days offer players the option to earn new content or rewards by slowly working hard at it or by purchasing it. Look into the purchases required for some games. On one hand, there is not much more enjoyment in playing. These will also save you a lot of your precious time.

Playing video games is a great way to relax after a tough day at work or at school. Don't let a difficult level on a video game detract from this relaxing activity. Even the most experienced gamers sometime need a cheat code to help get through an exceptionally hard level. On the Internet, there are some great sites that provide cheat codes and strategy guides for various video games.

If you are a parent of a child who enjoys playing video games, be aware of multi-player and online gaming options. These features allow your child to interact with other players throughout the world. As nice as it is for your child to be able to interact with others, you have no idea who the person on the other end is.

Most games have a parental control setting in the menu that you can change. Perhaps the game is able to be played over the Internet. If it can be, limit the Internet access your children have. Also look at friend requests and have time limits for how long they can play.

Whether it's to occupy your free time or even something you do socially, video games are a great way to have fun affordably and harmlessly. You can relieve stress, feel accomplished and yet never leave your own home.

Clementine's Story: The Next Phase Of The Walking Dead Telltale Game

By Mickey Jhonny

At last the waiting is done. All that vaguely obsessive compulsive analysis of the trailer need no longer suffice for the hungry fans. It seemed like it would never happen, but finally, the Walking Dead Telltale game, season 2, has arrived. Episode one is ready for our thrilled exploration. And you'll hear no discouraging words from this aficionado. It rocks.

The world of the Walking Dead has been great for a fan base totally taken with the prospect of interacting with the Robert Kirkman's zombie apocalypse. Elsewhere I've discussed the thriving domain of the Walking Dead fanfiction . Telltale's super game provides further opportunity for interacting with this desolate, creepy and fascinating world.

Clementine has moved center stage. The young girl, so vulnerable and sweet, that season one's protagonist, Lee, was so concerned to protect, having lost her devoted guardian, now must survive on her own. And it's not going to be easy.

The extensively decorated game, with award wins and nominations coming out of the wazoo, in this first episode of its second season continues to show its excellence, continuing to breathe new life into the adventure game genre. Likewise it continues its winning strategy of avoiding the risk of lapsing into mere puzzle solving and emphasizes the dynamic of interactive story telling. And these aren't empty choices.

The results of character's choices resonate throughout the game. They lead to practical and often unexpected consequences. Not only do those consequences reverberate from episode to episode, but it appears choices from last season may yet affect options in this new season.

All this is not to say that there are no changes in season two. And most of them are definitely improvements. The technical improvements are particularly noteworthy. I found the graphics much improved in the second season; they are more richly detailed. Frame rates are also improved, being more stable. Clementine walks about at a much advanced clip, now. A welcomed addition, when gripped in on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense.

If there's one thing about which I'm not thrilled, it would be with some of the dialogue options; they struck me as too often too dichotomous. It seems that Clementine either has to be a child or a badass. She's either excessively innocent or excessively confrontational. At least, that's how it seemed to me. I don't think that's getting the most out of the opportunities. I'll be keeping an eye on that situation as the season progresses.

The other side of the coin, though, is that it is an interesting change in the game dynamic to have the options made available by a young girl protagonist. Certainly playing Lee didn't provide the opportunity to be coyly manipulative, as is possible with Clementine.

And, I'm happy to report, that Telltales' strongest strong suit remains firmly in place here in the first episode of season two. I'm referring of course to the moral complexities confronting the protagonist. For instance, are you prepared to make Clementine a dead cold killer right from the get-go?

Lots of people already have. What are the consequences of that? Only future episodes will tell the tale. This is why the Walking Dead Telltale games have been so successful and so compelling. So far, the future looks bright. At least, from outside of the zombie apocalypse...and all that.

Breaking Down The Numerous Tools And Character Types Inside Assassin's Creed Four

By Letty Yeung

The unveiling associated with the approaching AC4 Black Flag is just about here. A multitude of trailers, weaponry, and gameplay features have been showcased in the last few days. I will briefly discuss with you the various weapons as well as game characters within this ground breaking game title.

In case you've been following all the most current Assassin's Creed 4 gossip, well then you have more than likely by now got word of the latest storyline characters which will be highlighted, as well as weapons including concealed blades, flintlock guns, and swords. I want to briefly get into even more information in relation to the personas and weaponry that game enthusiasts shall be facing. This way you will have a better awareness associated with what you should expect while learning to play.

Below is a checklist of weaponry and figure types within Assassin's Creed 4.

Weaponry:

Blow Tube: The Assassin's Creed franchise has just recently introduced a different weapon to its assortment named the blow tube. This tool is particularly cool because it employs darts which happen to have diverse effects on your adversaries. When you go with wild darts, your opponent will start to move around frantically till he inevitably dies. This is a single scenario. Assuming you decide to choose poisonous darts, your rival will almost certainly die an extremely terrible and agonizing fatality.

Twin Swords: These are going to be one of my personal favorites, I just know it. Dual blades may be used to slice your challenger to smithereens, assuming you are into that type of thing just like me. In my opinion this really is remarkably cool.

Throwing Knives: Flinging knife blades provide you the power to defeat your enemies automatically. The quick deaths purely work on weaker opposition. This is a very important factor you will want to take into account. You'll want to chuck a variety of knife blades to complete the kill in cases where you are going up against a more powerful attacker.

Storyline characters:

Edward Kenway: Edward is considered the fundamental protagonist of the overall game. As you run throughout the distinct terrains within the video game, you'll be actively playing as him.

Blackbeard: You are likely to quickly learn that Blackbeard is definitely one of the most dreaded pirates throughout the entire video game. I think he's a really sound addition to the game, as a result of his crazy nature and wicked mindset.

Charles Vane: Charles has picked up quite a status for himself as a formidable instigator. You know a challenge is simply waiting to come about the moment he climbs into the arena.

Anne Bonny: Anne is a really resilient female that carries herself with the highest belief and confidence. The fascinating thing concerning her is that she does not let herself get controlled inside of a male dominated planet.

Calico Jack: Calico Jack happens to be a really outgoing person who is in love with the women. That is in essence all that I can point out regarding him.

Overall, I can't wait to get hold of this video game. Shelling out a long time working to master every component of this game will probably be the only plan for me. What percentage of you online players nowadays feel the same?
