Battlestar Galactica Has Kept Lots Of Fans

By Audie C. Bosco

Battlestar Galactica is in an elite group of science fiction stories and franchises that has been popular over the range of many years with a wide audience. The original TV show by this name was broadcast in the late 1970's and though it did not last for many seasons, it did become quite a hit amongst devoted fans. Despite the fact that not everyone appreciates the unique concepts of the science fiction genre, there are many fans who love to imagine what the distant realms of the universe and the future of technology may hold for us. Viewing the imaginary ideas of the future lived out by characters that are easy to relate to and that experience the same kinds of struggles that people are facing now make science fiction feel much more realistic than just some kind of fantasy story.

Humans have been attacked and sent away from their home planet in Battlestar Galactica by the Cylon who are actually robot-like people who were made by humans in the past. The plot experiences lots of twists and turns, but what keeps fans interested is the fact that the story is rooted in normal human feeling. Good science fiction writers and artists realize that the best way to attract a wide audience is to keep the human element on the forefront and use the science fiction setting as a backdrop for the characters to interact in.

There are lots of spaceships that appear throughout Battlestar Galactica, including large transport vessels that are home to thousands of people and small fighter jets. Fans of science fiction are interested in seeing new ways of imagining travel in space and dogfights between high speed space ships. It is impressive to observe just how creative science fiction writers and artists can get with space flight since in the real world this realm of technology is still at its earliest stages.

Fans that want to truly experience what it would be like to exist in this kind of science fiction universe can do so by playing video games that use the same characters, worlds, and vehicles found in the television show. Sharing in the events of your preferred science fiction stories can be quite exciting.

Science fiction fans everywhere are quite familiar with the world of Battlestar Galactica as it has earned millions of fans. The story is kept alive through video games that utilize the same characters to allow players the chance to take part in BG's events and battles.
